Water management at the Navachab Gold Mine, Namibia, from 2000 to 2012, with a focus on groundwater chemistry

The Navachab Gold Mine, located on the eastern edge of the Namib Desert, is the largest open-cast gold mine and the largest non-Witwatersrand gold resource in southern Africa. In the period 2000 to 2012, a major commitment to understanding water chemistry at the mine and a concomitant groundwater monitoring program were initiated. A large database of physicochemical measurements, cation and anion concentrations, as well as trace elements is now available. Authors: Nick Steven, Marietjie Bell, Uwe Rentel, Bruce Eglington, Jodie Miller. Published by InfoMine Inc. 2013.
